Humber, Coast and Vale STP is embarking on a programme of joint work with two independent and impartial UK wide involvement networks. DEEP (Dementia Engagement and Empowerment Project) and tide (together in dementia everyday) will be supporting the STP to develop ways of ensuring that the work programme is co-produced with people living with dementia and family carers.
We believe that by fully involving both people living with dementia and their carers as equal partners with clinicians, local health and social care organisations, in our work as we move forward, will enable us to truly make care system more responsive to the needs of people who really matter.
Work being scoped includes:
- a carer development programme which invests and equips former and current carers of people living with dementia with the knowledge, skills and confidence to use their caring expertise to influence policy, research and practice including service transformation and redesign. By investing in tide we are committed to ensuring that carers of people living with dementia are recognised for their expertise and are treated as equal partners in the design of our future health and social care system
- creating supportive environments for people living with dementia to discuss their experiences and to challenge us on how things could work differently to better support those people living with dementia
